How to create a Flickr account & upload photos

So you want to share some files but don’t know how? Look no further. Flickr.com is a wonderful, FREE site designed to give anybody the ability to express themselves through pictures.

First things first: you need to create an account. On the Flickr homepage, there is a link at the top that prompts you to create an account with your yahoo ID. If you already have a yahoo ID, then just enter your information, and if not, click on the sign up link and create one!

Now that you have an account and officially exist on Flickr, it’s time to have some fun and upload some photos. To do so is simple:

1.) On your Flickr homepage, there is a link towards the top of the page that says “Upload photos”. Click on it.

2.) Browse through your computer and select the photos you’d like to upload. One of Flickr’s few shortcomings it that it has a 100 MB per month limit on photos uploaded, so you’re going to want to make sure your photos don’t have too big of a file size. You can easily adjust the quality of any photo in any photo editing program.

3.) After you’ve chosen your photos, click on Upload photos, and wait for the files to be uploaded to your site.

4.) When your photos are uploaded, you can personalize your photos by adding descriptions and titles to albums and individual photos.

5.) Now click on the home link. If you click on “Your Photostream”, you can view the pictures that you just put up, and so can the rest of the world!
